New Caledonia Agribusiness Mission November 2017

During the week 20th to the 24thNovember 2017 Austrade in conjunction with New Caledonia Trade and Investment invited several Australian companies to explore agribusiness opportunities in New Caledonia.

During the visit we were able to present our business to the government departments overseeing the agricultural sectors, from this the representing departments scheduled appointments with a select audience of farmers, including site visits, discussions sessions and ultimately enquiries for our services.
This was one of the most successful agribusiness missions I have attended, due to the low numbers of delegates (only 8 Australian businesses invited), targeted audience and the willingness of the New Caledonian farmers wanting to improve their business using Australian agricultural technology and processes as their closet neighbour with well-established farming systems and similar climate rather than the European way as has been in the past!
While we were there we also attended the Australian New Caledonian Business Forum, which was targeted in improving and growing business activities between our countries, some highlights were meeting some of the speakers including the Australian Consul General Mr Paul Wilson, which provided great insight on where we need to be and how to do business with New Caledonia
Overall a very successful week for me representing Grain Storage Technology’s and the Australian Agribusiness sector.
